Hi Sue I think Gareth is issuing SudokuXtra bi-monthly now. I needed puzzles to keep me going too so started to investigate the sites of the contributors to the community section . So far I have had many hours of pleasure from the hundrdeds of puzzles on Grant Fikes site, especially the giant puzzles which I particularly enjoy. I have finished issue 13 and not a gremlin to be found! I really enjoyed it as usual and especially the second two Skyscraper Zeros in the community section which I found difficult and frustrating but challenging and fun at the same time. The addition of the zero gave the puzzles a very interesting twist. I also liked the Mirror Box and the Pentomino Queries-once I realised the letters on theby Nikki - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Oh well done Christine, that's great! Now issue 13 is out it might be a good idea to choose another puzzle type that you struggle with and ask Jim for some more help. I would not be any help, as I can solve the puzzles but like I said before I don't think I could put the solving strategies in writing. Ok Deb, thanks to your great work-through I think the fog is starting to clear, but I still need more help. With the information that that the path has to start in row 4 I can then go on to complete the puzzle. However I still cannot come to that first conclusion on my own in the first place, and that of course is crucial as you cannot carry on without it.
