I agree - this series is great! Lucky me for having some Amazon vouchers to use. These are going to be spent on XV, Odd/Even, Outside, Jigsaw 1 and Jigsaw 2!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hi Gareth Wow, 200 XVs, brilliant! Is this available only at Amazon, as I can't find a PDF download for it here.by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Gosh, I'm so far behind, I haven't started issue 20 yet!! Favourites - samurais of any kind, particularly star and 13-grid, extra regions, odd pair, consecutive and non-consecutive, XV, jigsaws, kropki. I can't comment on the newer ones as I've not done them yet, but they do look interesting! I do remember doing argyle sudoku and anti-king from your blog, Gareth, and they were fun. Puzzby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Issue 19 is brilliant, Gareth. Great to see new variants. So far I've thoroughly enjoyed Sudoku XV, Non-Consecutive Sudoku and Integer Multiple Sudoku. Kropi next!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Sorry to hear about your health problems, Dave. I wish you the best. Like the others, I fully intend to continue getting Xtra. Take care of yourself. Marilynby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hi all A bit behind, as usual, just about to get Issue 19! Hope everyone's ok. Another thumb's up for a volume of Samurai Stars. Yes, please, Gareth.by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Definitely not alone! Samurai stars have always been amongst my favourite puzzles. A book of them would be rather splendid!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I did my first Odd Pair puzzles in issue 13 and found them rather addictive. I've since gone back over earlier issues for others that I've missed. You have my vote for a PDF!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Must agree with the ladies. Sudoku Extra is the best magazine around so if an issue is late or the frequency is changed so be it, as long as it keeps coming! Thanks for a fantastic puzzling year, Gareth, and happy holidays to everyone! Marilyn Edit: Oooh, have just downloaded issue 12 and spotted the Samurai 13 Extra Regions! Yummy yummy - better than Christmas dinner!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Thanks, Nathan! This looks good. Have printed it off for a good study!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Good luck! Flying a virtual flag for you, Gareth!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hi Gareth I hadn't even noticed the regular 9x9s had gone, or the toroidals! It's perfectly understandable that something has to be put aside for new content. Heck, if my most favourite puzzles disappeared for a while (Hanjie and Samurai Star) I wouldn't object. It's always wonderful when you come up with something new/different. I tried the Haijo puzzles in issue 10 and quite enjoyed theby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Wow! I have to agree with Sue, Issue 11 looks amazing! The Consecutive 13x will probably take me all month, so I might start on those lovely looking boomerangs. The Community puzzles are awesome. Actually I might start the Knighted Samurai first, or No 4 In A Row, or the variant Battleships, or Mutant Seek and Spell and hey, that Krypto Kakuro looks like fun! So many choices!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Oooh, what an addictive beastie! Loved this puzzle, Gareth. I felt compelled to pluck away at it during all my free time, never mind housework or anything like that. You know what i'm going to say next - more!!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I used to enjoy Hitori. Can't remember how I first got into them, but I had some books from Nikoli and a couple of books were also published in the UK. For some reason, I've now gone off them a bit now. Hanjie, though, I will never go off them. Have been addicted for years. I get Hanjie magazines imported from Japan just to get really huge puzzles like 190/80 and 175/110 in size! They takby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Issue 10??? Who hit the time warp button? I haven't bought issue 9 yet! Scrambling now.by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Thanks for the extra tips! Enjoy Scotland Sue. Be well-armed with puzzles as you'll be swatting midges regularly!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
That's an idea, Sue!! Seriously, though, I do lean more towards logic puzzles. The poor old brain just wants to shut down when faced with anything too mathematical. I don't know why that is as I've always liked maths! I can see the value of a combination list for many different puzzles nowadays. I used to have a list back in the day of Mindgames Magazine, when everyone was raving aboutby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Glad you like them, Sue. Have to admit, Dan's Arrows are way tougher than others I've done. That's a good thing, though. It means the magazine will take a long time to finish. I'm still plucking away at Sudoku Minus. I have a love/hate relationship with it at the moment. I love that its frying my brains which makes me determined to finish it (eventually). I hate working out combinations -by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Issue 8's Sudoku Minus was the first of this type of puzzle I've attempted. Struggling to get my head around it, so I'm reading up on Sue and Christine's hard work! Thanks for that, ladies! Great selection at Puzzle-Magazine.com. Have just purchased the Hypersudoku and Arrow Sudoku magazines and will get the Consecutive magazine at some point. I was particularly delighted to see the Arroby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Agree! Issue 8 is smoking! Love the S puzzles as well and the community section looks really good. Nice to see a classical logic puzzle, which is all I've done so far.by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Laughed my socks off, Gareth! Only two stockists in two of the busiest areas of Central London! I suppose it could have been worse, though, e.g. no stockists! Thanks for the information. Happy 0th birthday, Christine! I haven't seen puzzle magazines in the Japancentre for a while, but you never know - there might be something if you want to chance a visit. Shame I'm working weekends for aby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Thanks, Gareth. I recognise most of those addresses apart from Edmonton and Bounds Green which are quite a jaunt away! Maybe they were just out of stock, then, apart from the store on Upper Street. I didn't think to ask any of them if they stock Sudoku Pro, doh! Could you also please check some Central London postcodes when you have the chance? Those would be WC1, WC2, EC1, EC2. Sue, I'by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Thanks! My postcode is London N4. Nearby postcodes in walking distance are N7, N8, and N22. I found the magazine in N1 (Upper Street, near Highbury and Islington tube).by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I was delighted to see that Nikoli has a book of Suraromu puzzles. Waiting for that to arrive will keep a smile on my face even if England get knocked out of the World Cup!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
At last! After visiting dozens of newsagents I finally found a copy of Sudoku Pro! Still not sure about re-subscribing but will at least check out issue 52 for your editorial, Gareth!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hmn, have to say I've not seen Sudoku Pro on the shelves yet. I'll definitely try a copy when I see one but it's unlikely I'll re-subscribe. Sudoko Extra is more than enough and, like Sue, this month is taken up with lots of football matches to watch!by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
This is a very enjoyable puzzle! I've only done the first two so far and have found them to be easier than Masyu and Yajilin. I like that the route is numerical, which has proved very helpful in plotting the loop's path. More of these in future issues, please?by Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Well done on the SSSS, Christine! Gosh, I'm so behind this month, I haven't done any puzzles in issue 4 yet! Best get cracking as issue 5 is just around the corner. Oh, and another vote to keep the SSSS in! Marilynby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hi Anso Just thought I'd introduce myself as another Hanjie addict in the UK. I used to subscribe to both Hanjie and Super Hanjie but no longer get them. The largest puzzles in Hanjie were 30x30, whereas Super Hanjie used to start at sizes 30x35 with the largest being 50x60, and also contained a couple of colour puzzles. Super Hanjie was definitely harder than Hanjie and I tend to agree wby Marilyn - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
