Hi! Is it really 9 years? Wow! That's a long time! I used to make Sudoku Xtra when I wasn't busy with other work, so I guess it just shows how busy I've been for the past decade! Good to hear from you, and thank you for your support! You can check out my latest stuff at www.drgarethmoore.com - some of which is like the mag, such as my Chiryoku book - but I don't know if there will be anotherby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Well, this was the last time I had the time available to create a Sudoku Xtra issue. If you've been waiting for the next issue, it's been a while hasn't it...by gareth - Announcements
Thanks Amanda - that's very kind of you to say so, and I'm glad you've enjoyed the issues so far!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
At some point, I do still intend to produce extra issues. It's just a case of finding time, since Sudoku Xtra unfortunately sells such a relatively small number of copies that I have to produce it as a labour of love rather than to make any money. I've always made it with such a range of content that it takes a really long time to make, but it is still on the cards to make more. You can sign uby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
It definitely will still appear... eventually! I've said that before I know, but it really will. Thanks for your patience!!!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Thanks for this effort, but unfortunately I can only publish puzzles I have requested in advance. As a matter of policy I am careful not to view unsolicited material, so I can't be accused of stealing anyone's ideas. There isn't a Community Puzzles section any longer because it ultimately took me longer to draw and clean up other puzzles for publication than it did to make my own, although I sby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
It's not dead. Just really sleeping! Promise.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
It's just delayed - too many books to do! Although if you want a refund on the remainder of your subscription I will do that back to your Paypal account without question, of course. I have done bits of work on it from time to time, so it's just making verrrrrrry slow progress. Sorry about that!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Interesting! By 'ABCD End View' I presume you mean what is commonly called 'Easy As ABC', but what is 'Stars'? Do you mean 'Star Battle'?by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
All the Sudoku Xtra books and magazines are available as PDFs. However while the PDFs of the magazines, and printed versions of the books, are both popular, there is no overlap. That is, no one buys the PDFs of the single puzzle books, and most people choose the PDF of the magazine. So now I don't bother with PDF versions of non-Sudoku Xtra books because they won't sell so it's not worth the timeby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
David is doing a new Advent calendar this year, based on Area 51 (a combination of loop-finding puzzle types), so check it out! http://www.thegriddle.net/by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
New volumes of my long-running Sudoku 16x16 and Sudoku 25x25 "Sudoku Xtra Specials" series are now available. You can either get them pre-printed from Amazon, or you can choose to download a PDF and print pages yourself if you prefer. Links to both printed and download versions are on the Sudoku Xtra books page.by gareth - Announcements
I can post one for you too if you have a particular one you want to discuss and don't know how to get it as a graphic.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I have removed the regular skyscraper you posted because it was not one of mine and you said you didn't know where it came from - I don't want anyone to accuse me of hosting stolen puzzles on the site, so it had to go. You can, however, post one from the magazine if you wish to discuss it.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Puzzle 100 is a Non-consecutive as a nice surprise for the end. It's still a Consecutive puzzle, technically!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Hey, it's good to know that someone liked those 2-away puzzles! I think you're the first person to have specifically mentioned them. I'm not sure there's demand for a book, but I'll certainly think about it!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
It's a long wait because I'm organising all of the puzzle content for the forthcoming World Puzzle Championship - see UK World Puzzle and Sudoku Championships 2014 for more information! This is the 23rd year of the tournament, and the first time it's been held in the UK.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
Sudoku Xtra 24 is... finally... ready! I'm sorry for the somewhat long delay, given that it's six months later than promised! But, hopefully, it's been worth the wait... I've taken the opportunity to refresh the design a little, both in the magazine and on the website, and I've finally added the often-mentioned but never-present feature of being able to provide your email address to receiveby gareth - Announcements
Sadly other things outside my control intervened, but Sudoku Xtra is not forgotten! Happy Christmas nonetheless!by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum

Brained Up's scientifically-designed exercises provide a fun way to train your brain for sharper, faster thinking. That's a good question! I have been holding off replying because I wanted to reply saying "It's out today!", but I'm not that far yet so the answer is it will definitely be out before Christmas. I've been intensively working on a bunch of other projects and keep pushing Sudoku Xtra back, which I probably shouldn't have done but anyway... On the other hand, I hope these projects will siby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I got a few questions, including one about Product Frame Sudoku, via email, so thought I'd repost here: QuoteI have been doing killer sudoku for a few years and came across your magazines by chance. This has given me more than I had expected to find in one source, thank you. May I ask is there a site I can go to for more of an explanation on some of the puzzles? Many of these are new to me.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I'm looking for a small number of select volunteers to help me test a brand new puzzle-related website I'll be launching later this year. If you'd like to be involved please send me an email at gareth@sudokuxtra.com. In return for helping out with various tests of the site you'll get free accesby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I've recently launched a new series of '101 Giant Sudoku' books, to cater for those who like their Sudoku to be considerably larger than normal! You can see the entire series at PuzzleBooks.org (scroll to the bottom) or visit Amazon and search for "101 giant sudoku". There are 12 books in the series: 14x14, 15x15, 16x16, 18x18, 20x20, 21x21, 22x22, 24x24, 25x25, 28x28, 30x30 and 3by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I also added Skyscraper 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7 sets, as well as some other combinations I missed out on the first upload, such as Killer Sudoku-X. These Skyscraper sets feature optimised clue sets, rather than the 'all possible clues present' approach I used to use for my Skyscraper puzzles. All available for instant play on puzzlemix.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I'm delighted to announce that Sudoku Xtra 23 is now available for download! Subscribers should have already received their copies, and it is also now available pre-printed from Amazon - find a link to your local Amazon on this page. It's been delayed due to a range of other projects I've worked on, including a new range of books that I have created at www.puzzlebooks.org, so thanks very muchby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
You can also jump straight to the list of sets available (Odd Pair Sudoku, Consecutive Sudoku, Sudoku XV, etc etc) by clicking here. None of the puzzles have been published before - they're all brand new.by gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
I've just completed a new puzzle set system over at PuzzleMix that I've been working on for a while. This new system makes it much easier to find and add sets of puzzles to your account, and there's now a much wider range of content. Today I've made the new version of the site live and I've added 33 new sets of puzzles to go with it. All of these are sudoku-based sets, but I will be addingby gareth - Sudoku Xtra Discussion Forum
